Paul Corey (b 1969) in Watertown, NY. Paul graduated from John C. Birdlebough High School in Phoenix, NY. At eighteen years old, Paul enlisted in the U.S. Army. Many lessons are learned there that apply not only to the military but, to life in general and business especially. Learning to lead and to participate as part of a team and to do whatever it takes to accomplish your goals are important experiences that will be with him for the rest of his life. The only natural thing to do after the military when you serve in Combat Arms is to enter the field of Law Enforcement. Paul served for a number of years in the Franklin County Sheriff's Office in Columbus, Ohio. It was while working for the Sheriff's Office at an off-duty job that Paul first got interested in business as a career. Paul arrived in Montgomery County when his family moved here ten years ago. It is his intention to transfer to the University of Maryland and the Smith School of Business at College Park. His goal is to stay in school and receive a Master's degree in Business Administration. Paul wants to minor in Human Resource Management and Finance. As a returning student, he is grateful for the opportunities available at Montgomery College and especially those provided by the Macklin Business Institute. He is active in community service including four years of volunteering with Big Brothers/Big Sisters.

Michael Somerville (b 1982) in Massachusetts and lived the first seven or eight years of his life in New England. When he was about eight, his dad decided to go to law school ... at Harvard. Needless to say, major changes followed. When the dust settled, he found himself on a farm in northern Virginia. The family soon moved to Maryland, here for the past seven years. Mike is the second of six children (three boys and three girls.) His mother homeschooled him from 1st grade through 12th, not to mention running a small home business and homeschooling his brothers and sisters. He attended Montgomery College as a member of the inaugural class of Montgomery Scholars. He was a member of the Macklin Business Institute, class of 2000-2001. Transferring to the University of Maryland, he plans to earn a degree in either Business Administration, Information Systems Management (MIS), or Decision Information Sciences (DIS). Upon graduating from a four-year school, I plan to get a job in this area (possibly with Lockheed Martin where he spent a summer internship.). Mike is also participating in a special program at UMCP where the business school and engineering school have created the Hinman Program for Entrepreneurship.
