Fall 2026 Faculty Learning Pathways

The CTL Faculty Professional Learning Pathways Program is a faculty development initiative designed to support innovative, inclusive, and evidence-informed teaching practices aligned with Montgomery College’s Academic Master Plan and Strategic Plan. 

The program offers competency-based professional learning pathways across the following five strategic areas with the option to apply for a microcredential. 

  • AI Integration and Digital Fluency 
  • Neuroscience of Learning 
  • Emotional Intelligence and Human-Centered Teaching 
  • Design Thinking and Applied Learning 
  • Sustainability and Global Citizenship 
How to Register for Faculty Learning Pathway Workshops

Each learning pathway offers five workshops. You can take as many workshops as you wish. To register, review the list of workshops below by category and click the link to register in Workday. You can also search for each workshop on the CTL workshop calendar new window.

Explore ethical, inclusive, and effective AI and digital fluency practices for teaching and learning, including AI-supported course design and assessment, flexible learning, workforce and transfer readiness, and critical AI literacy.

Explore learning science principles that support achievement, retention, clarity, motivation, and inclusive learning design, including neurodiversity, metacognition, cognitive load, course navigation, engagement, and belonging.

Explore relationship-centered and inclusive approaches that strengthen student belonging, resilience, communication, and persistence, including trauma-informed and care-centered teaching and sustainable faculty practice.

Explore design thinking, experiential learning, collaboration, evidence-informed improvement, and future-ready approaches that connect learning to real-world challenges.

Explore global learning, sustainability, civic and community engagement, ethical reasoning, social responsibility, and accessible, open, and equitable knowledge practices. 

How to Earn a Microcredential for Your Chosen Pathway (Optional)

You have the option to earn a microcredential in for your chosen pathway. To apply for a microcredential:

  1. Choose a pathway. Select one of the five pathways that best matches your interests and goals.
  2. Attend three pathway workshops. Attend three of the five workshops in your selected pathway.
  3. Complete the three associated assignments. Complete the assignment for each of the three pathway workshops you attend. Your workshop facilitator will provide more information and share the rubric. Using the rubric provided for each workshop, each assignment must be completed at a Competent or Accomplished level.
  4. Attend two CTL workshops outside your pathway and reflect. Attend two CTL workshops outside your selected pathway and write a reflection explaining how each connects with the pathway theme.
  5. Submit your work. Submit your three assignments and two reflections using the CTL Pathways Submission Form  new window(The form will be open soon)
  6. Earn your badge! The pathways coordinator will review your submission and contact you with any questions prior to awarding your badge. Please allow up to 3-4 weeks for this process.
